TSC / The Service Company was founded by Larry Sinn in 1984 during his move to South Carolina. Larry likes to say that he wasn’t born in the South but he came as fast as he could.

Larry made a commitment to service excellence in 1987 by establishing Howard Klinetop as technical service advisor and troubleshooter. With Larry's leadership and Howard's expertise, TSC has become synonymous with service excellence in the Carolinas. Our service department started with a single technician servicing heating and air conditioning systems. We have grown to 20 service technicians and expanded to include plumbing, electrical, insulation and Healthy Home Solutions™.

In the early 1990’s, Duke Power instituted a rebate program called Home Comfort Tune Up. Duke Power recognized that the problem with heat pumps was not that they were "drafty" or "cold" but that leaky ductwork allowed too much outside air inside. The program provided rebates for homeowners to test their heat pump systems and repair these problems. TSC tested hundreds of houses improving the comfort, savings and health in nearly a thousand of them. What we learned from helping homeowners in this program was that sealing ductwork only solved a part of the problem.

The final pieces of the puzzle came together in 1993 when Larry Sinn met Brendan Reid, president of Comfort Institute. The "house as a system" approach successfully filled the gaps for the remaining problems. What Larry learned was that home comfort depends upon more than furnaces, heat pumps and air conditioners. Now Larry’s non-negotiable is that we “Make it Tight, Insulate it Right, Ventilate, Dehumidify, and Purify—For Your Comfort, Savings and Health.” We seal leaks in the house and ductwork to keep expensive, conditioned air inside. Our insulation repairs reduce utility costs. We install air filters and humidity controls to eliminate viruses, mold, allergens and odors. As Larry likes to say, TSC now has solutions for problems, not band aids for symptoms.

In 1999, TSC was the third company nationwide to begin using the newly-licensed Aeroseal system. The Aeroseal system fills in all joints and holes in the ductwork with a high-tech, vinyl polymer which is a vast improvement over the hit-or-miss of manual sealing. With Aeroseal, TSC can even reach holes in the concealed parts of an air distribution system. In 2003 alone, TSC sealed or replaced 384 ductwork systems.

Larry Sinn - TSC Founder Hi, I'm Larry Sinn.

In 1984, I founded what I dreamed would one day become the region's premier service provider. That day is here. Every month, more than 60% of the people for whom we work are either repeat customers or have been referred by a friend. I think that speaks for itself. Inspiration Before Perspiration 
Our weekly trainingEvery week, the entire technical staff here at TSC / The Service Company get together with a chaplain from Marketplace Ministries. We have a Bible-based inspirational message. We pray together. These good folks work for me, but they do all their work in your home. I want your job done right, your home kept clean, and your property cared for by the most honest and conscientious people in the business. Chaplain Kelly inspires us so we can do our best for you and your family. 

Service Champions 
At TSC / The Service Company, service is our middle name. So winning a service award requires something extra special. We honor a commitment to service with an award called "The Service Champion." 

Customer Service Representatives
Service starts the moment you dial the phone. You don't want to talk to a machine, to leave a voice mail or to have someone call you back. At TSC / The Service Company, we have a human being ready to answer the phones from 7 am to 8 pm Monday through Friday. Have to call on the weekend? We have a dispatcher here from 8 am through 4 pm Saturday and 8 am until noon on Sunday. The person who answers your calls on the weekend can schedule the on call technicians that we have available round the clock, seven days a week. Don't call a machine. Don't call an answering service hoping for someone to return your call. Just call Larry.
